Bring Atyla back to her homeport across the Biscay Bay.
The beautiful city of Le Havre welcomes you to explore it a bit before you start your trip. You can walk around the centre before to come on board the ship (which will be open for you 10 minutes away from the main train station).
Once on board, when everyone has been properly introduced to the ship, other people on board, and to the basic info for safety, we’ll set sail towards Bilbao.
If Le Havre (north of France) is far away from your home, you can fly to Paris and take a bus from there. Or if you are lucky maybe your city is connected to the Airport of Caen, which is closer to Le Havre.
Or better, sail with us also from Dublin to Le Havre, and enjoy both the good connections of the Irish capital and a nice summer sailing trip.
Anyone that knows about sailing knows that sailing through the Biscay Bay is the “real deal”. A very deep see with sometimes unpredictable weather is the perfect challenge for real adventure-seekers.
But the Biscay bay is also an astonishing sea, full of sea life, where Dolphins of all sorts follow you for days surfing the waves that the ship creates. We’ll use this context to focus part of our coaching sessions on environmental responsibility.
We’ll probably also have time to anchor somewhere and go for a swim jumping from the ship.
Finally, we’ll enter the estuary of Bilbao, cross under the famous Portugalete bridge, and will wave at the people on the banks of the river until we get to the Maritime Museum.
Home sweet home! Atyla is back in her homeport after the whole summer doing educational adventures around Europe. And that is worth a celebration.
After our arrival, we’ll get the ship ready for the first public visits, and then we’ll have free time to explore Bilbao and celebrate the end of the trip with our shipmates.
Finally, in order to get back home, go by bus or train to almost anywhere in Europe, or you can fly out from the airports of Bilbao (a 25 minutes bus ride from the ship) or Santander (1 hour away from the ship).
Since this is the last international trip of the season, the disembarkation day of this trip is flexible. You can leave the ship any time from the 16th of September at 7pm, until the 18th at 11am. Just inform the crew the day before.
If you want to stay for a longer period, apply for a spot as Winter Volunteer, and help our crew with essential maintenance works. Best of all, it's absolutely free!INCLUDES:
